O’Fallon Hit and Run Accident Injures Pedestrian

On Friday night, a hit and run accident happened in O’Fallon, Illinois. The O’Fallon Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian accident at approximately 11:50 p.m. A 35-year-old local man was walking on North Greenmount Road when he was struck by a vehicle at the 1400 block. Man Killed in Metro-East Work Accident

A work-related accident has killed a man in Madison County, Illinois on Thursday. The accident happened around 9:19 a.m. in Alhambra when a worker was electrocuted. The worker, 34-year-old Geoffrey L. Walthes from Germantown was working at a construction worksite near the intersection of East Main Street and Wall Street when he came into contact with a live power line. Southern IL Woman Fined for Fatal Accident

A southern Illinois woman received a $1,000 fine for causing a motorcycle accident that killed a man. In November 2014, 57-year-old Terry Rawson was traveling on Stotlar Road when his motorcycle was rear-ended by 28-year-old Brittany Lane. Rawson, a Sesser, Illinois resident, and former school sports coach, was killed in the accident. Authorities subpoenaed Lane’s cell phone records, and there is no evidence that she was using her phone at the time of the accident. IL Car Crash Kills Police Deputy

A car accident that occurred late Monday night in Illinois has claimed the life of a Tazewell County Sheriff’s Deputy. At approximately 10:30 p.m., 44-year-old Craig Whisenand was responding to a domestic disturbance call when dispatchers lost contact with him. The deputy was traveling on Springfield Road southbound when he apparently lost control of his vehicle, became airborne, and collided with a tree. Two Injured in Southern Illinois Car Accident

An early morning car accident has injured two individuals in southern Illinois. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday near Marion. According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, 30-year-old Danielle Wilfong was operating a vehicle along Route 37 when she veered off the roadway and collided with a tree near the intersection of Route 37 and Prosperity Road. Wilfong and her 32-year-old passenger, Justin Vlasak, were both seriously injured in the auto accident. Elderly IL Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident

On Sunday, an elderly man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Jacksonville, Illinois. At approximately 8:30 a.m., 86-year-old Homer Keltner attempted to cross South Church Street when he was struck by a vehicle. According to Jacksonville police, 72-year-old Gloria E. Lyles was traveling along South Church Street near West College Avenue when she failed to yield to Keltner crossing the street in a crosswalk. Illinois Man Killed in ATV Accident 

An ATV accident has claimed the life of an Illinois man in Marshall County. A group of friends were riding their four-wheelers on Saturday night a few miles from Henry, Illinois when an accident occurred killing 32-year-old Ryan T. Closen. As Closen fell behind the other four-wheelers, he attempted to catch up to them by speeding in the field next to Illinois Route 29. Southern IL Motorcycle Accident Injures Man

Authorities responded to an Illinois auto accident involving a motorcycle on Monday morning in Murphysboro. At approximately 11:32 a.m. 43-year-old Jason Hall was operating his 2012 Kawasaki green motorcycle traveling on old Highway 13 westbound when he was struck by another vehicle. According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Michael Chancy was driving a 2007 Honda car and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Highway 13 from Williams Street when he struck Hull's motorcycle in the intersection. Chancy was not injured in the accident but unfortunately, Hull sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance....

Woman Sentenced in Illinois Pedestrian Accident

In 2013, 57-year-old Alan Rubin was crossing the street in Skokie, Illinois when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. Police reports indicate that Larissa Lomax, 34-years-old, had turned off of Skokie Boulevard onto Main Street where Rubin was crossing. She struck him in the crosswalk, and he died after being transported to the hospital. After the car accident, Lomax was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Illinois Woman Charged in Fatal Crash

A Columbia, Illinois woman has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter resulting from a car crash that occurred last week. According to Greene County prosecutors, 35-year-old Antonia Livia-Reiss was traveling at approximately 96 miles per hour when she lost control of her vehicle, and she collided with another vehicle. That vehicle was an SUV that had stopped and contained two occupants, 72-year-old C.L. Lewis and 69-year-old Barbara Lewis.
