Illinois Car Accident Injures One

The Illinois State Police responded to a car accident on Sunday afternoon near Carterville, Illinois. According to authorities, 62-year-old Richard Franks was traveling westbound on Illinois 13 when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. The accident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. close to North Wolfcreek Road. Franks was seriously injured in the accident and was transported via ambulance to the hospital. Authorities cited Franks for improper lane usage.  Illinois auto accidents resulted in 60,252 individuals sustaining injuries in 2012, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Metro-East Accidents Involve Semi-Trucks

On Friday morning, two separate semi-truck accidents delayed commuters on their morning commute. The Illinois State Police responded to an accident on Interstate 64 near the interchange of Illinois 111 at approximately 6 a.m.  The tractor-trailer had overturned and blocked two lanes on the roadway. According to police, the cleanup was expected to take a couple of hours to clear a way for traffic. Horse and Buggy Rear-Ended by Vehicle

An accident in southern Illinois occurred on Tuesday afternoon involving a vehicle and a horse and buggy. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to calls reporting the car accident had occurred at approximately 4 p.m. near Campbell Hill. According to authorities, Robert Hines was driving a car when he failed to reduce his speed and slammed into the rear of a horse and buggy being operated by Lovina Lambright. O’Fallon Man Killed in Car Crash

As two young men were traveling in their vehicle Saturday night, they were involved in a one-vehicle auto accident. The accident happened around 8:44 p.m. on Interstate 70 near Route A in St. Charles County, Missouri. The vehicle was being driven by 21-year-old Zachary T. Mills on Interstate 70 when he veered off the eastbound lanes and crashed the vehicle. Kyle R. Hutchens, also 21-years-old, was a passenger in the vehicle. Motorcycle Accident Kills Illinois Woman

As a woman rode on the back of a motorcycle, she was killed when the motorcycle crashed. The crash happened near West Frankfort, Illinois approximately 100 miles from St. Louis. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when 45-year-old Tricia Bailey was a passenger on a motorcycle in which her ex-husband was driving. The driver, Steven Bailey, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the tire of a hay baler, according to police. Authorities Continue to Investigate Metro-East Car Crash

On Wednesday night an auto accident in Columbia, Illinois injured two teenagers. Katherine A. Brinkley, a 26-year-old Waterloo woman, was traveling on Admiral Parkway heading north in her Lexus SUV when she struck a Pontiac G6, which was heading eastbound on Veterans. Brett Luther of Columbia was operating the G6 and was transported to the hospital along with his 17-year-old female passenger. Emergency crews had to extricate the teens from the vehicle, and the female was transported via medical helicopter. Worker Killed on Eads Bridge

Eads Bridge in St. Louis was the site of an accident involving a tugboat on Thursday afternoon. The tugboat collided with the bridge causing the death of the man working in that area. That man was an employee of the Pevely, Missouri company called Thomas Industrial Coatings and was sandblasting an area on the bridge where the tugboat struck causing the man to fall to his death. Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn has recognized the victim of a two-vehicle accident that took place Monday night after 10 pm on I-255 south of New Poag Road. The victim Max A. Davis, 24, of Carlyle IL, was driving in a Ford pickup in the northbound in the southbound paths of I-255 south of New Poag Road. His vehicle crashed with Cadillac STS. In Long Island, New York a the driver of a 2008 BMW struck a Toyota on Southern State Parkway. The Toyota carried a wife and husband along with their two children, an eight-year-old boy and four-year-old girl. Teenager Dies in Tragic Single Car Accident

A car accident occurred Sunday morning, when the 1993 Previa minivan was traveling on Peoria south. The cause of the accident occurred when the driver of the minivan improperly handled a left hand turn and veered off the road whereby the vehicle rolled several times.
