OFallon Hit and Run Accident Injures Pedestrian

On Friday night, a hit and run accident happened in O’Fallon, Illinois. The O’Fallon Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian accident at approximately 11:50 p.m. A 35-year-old local man was walking on North Greenmount Road when he was struck by a vehicle at the 1400 block. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident and police are encouraging witnesses from the area north of Interstate 64 where the Hilton Garden Inn and the O’Fallon Assembly of God Church are located to come forward. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in St. Louis and as of Sunday he was still listed as being in critical condition.

In the event of an auto accident, by law all drivers are required to remain at the scene of the accident and exchange personal and insurance information. When a driver flees the scene of an accident, that accident is classified as a hit and run accident. Hit and run accidents have been considered an epidemic in some well-populated areas, such as Denver. An individual that sustains bodily, property, and emotional damages due to a hit and run accident may have a difficult time recovering compensation without retaining an experienced Illinois hit and run accident attorney.

The Besserman Law Office has the experience and skill necessary to handle your case. Deborah Besserman will fully investigate the accident to determine and locate the driver of the hit and run accident. Even if the driver is never identified, Deborah will negotiate with the insurance company to recover the maximum financial compensation for your damages.
