OFallon Man Killed in Car Crash

March 22, 2017

As two young men were traveling in their vehicle Saturday night, they were involved in a one-vehicle auto accident. The accident happened around 8:44 p.m. on Interstate 70 near Route A in St. Charles County, Missouri. The vehicle was being driven by 21-year-old Zachary T. Mills on Interstate 70 when he veered off the eastbound lanes and crashed the vehicle. Kyle R. Hutchens, also 21-years-old, was a passenger in the vehicle. Both men were not wearing their seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. Hutchins was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Mills was also injured in the accident and taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Authorities believe Mills was traveling at an excessive speed when he lost control of the vehicle.

Individuals involved in single-vehicle accidents often are unaware that they may have grounds for an auto accident case. Drivers are typically responsible for car accidents; however, there are several other causes that can lead to a crash. Design flaws, mechanical defects, and dangerous roadways can also cause Illinois auto accidents. Also, if you were injured in a single-vehicle accident as a passenger, you may have grounds to file a case against the driver of that vehicle. Regardless of the circumstances of an accident, it is important to seek the advice of an experienced St. Louis auto accident attorney.
