Couple Killed in MA Car Crash

March 22, 2017
Tragically two young teens died as the result of a motor vehicle crash in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. These types of car accidents can happen right here in the Granite City, Edwardsville,  or Belleville area.  Furthermore, the teens that died were a couple and each other’s recent prom dates.  The first victim was 21-year-old Brooklyn Rodrigues, and their passenger was 18-year-old, Meghan Sargent.

The crash happened Monday night when the couple’s vehicle attempted to pass several cars, and then hit a curb near Rout 6.  Thus, Rodrigues lost control of the car, and it rolled over, which in turn collapsed the top of the vehicle.  The car then landed on its roof near a tree near Fairhaven Road.

Witnesses were unsure how many times the vehicle rolled end over end before it came to rest.  Both Rodrigues and Sargent were pronounced dead at the scene. Sadly Meghan was set to graduate from her high school on Sunday and obviously will never get the chance to pass through that huge life milestone.  Grief counselors were on hand at the Fairhaven High School to help classmates cope with the loss of Sargent.
