An ATV accident has claimed the life of an Illinois man in Marshall County. A group of friends were riding their four-wheelers on Saturday night a few miles from Henry, Illinois when an accident occurred killing 32-year-old Ryan T. Closen. As Closen fell behind the other four-wheelers, he attempted to catch up to them by speeding in the field next to Illinois Route 29. Witnesses claim Closen hit some uneven ground causing the vehicle to go airborne then overturn pinning him underneath. Unfortunately, he died due to the injuries he sustained in the ATV crash. The accident is under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
All-terrain vehicles, also known as ATVs, are used for farm work and recreation by thousands of individuals. ATV accidents can be caused by the same factors that cause auto accidents including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, lack of training, and design flaws. The center of gravity is higher on the ATVs that can lead to rollover accidents. Holding responsible individuals accountable for an ATV accident is important to recover the maximum compensation for your damages.
