Motorcycle Accident Kills Illinois Woman

As a woman rode on the back of a motorcycle, she was killed when the motorcycle crashed. The crash happened near West Frankfort, Illinois approximately 100 miles from St. Louis. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when 45-year-old Tricia Bailey was a passenger on a motorcycle in which her ex-husband was driving. The driver, Steven Bailey, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the tire of a hay baler, according to police. As the motorcycle collided with the left rear tire, the riders were thrown from the motorcycle. The driver was seriously injured and transported to the hospital via helicopter. Tricia Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Illinois State Police responded to the crash, and it is currently under investigation.
